OUR LIFE IN CHALABRE:
An American Expat in
the South of France
HALLOWEEN and VETERANS' DAY
IN CHALABRE
(31 Oct.-11 Nov. 2005)
Halloween is just as big here as it was in our corner of Los Angeles, and
a lot more relaxed.
Mistresss of Ceremonies
Diva Maggie in her
black-as-night
cloak supervises
The Witches are coming!
The Monsters are here!
"Gimme, gimme!"
said the Little Witch
A disappointed vampire
(candy is running low)
The full Coven makes its entrance; the horror, the horror!
And finally... Mickey!
November 11, our Veterans' Day known here as Armistice Day, is celebrated
more solemnly than D-Day. The impact of WWI on France can still be felt today.
The band opens
the procession
Then the flag bearers
Followed by the Notables
While the band plays on
The firemen make an appearance
And this being the South of France, Roxy, the Butcher's Dog, closes the March!
